Audition The Oracle Band

Searching for a live variety band for your wedding or private party?  

Strangely enough, one of the toughest parts of auditioning live bands is actually hearing them perform.  Many wedding bands that specialize in weddings and private parties almost NEVER perform publicly.  They hand you a slick videotape with lots of dance moves and huge light trusses, and make like this is what it is actually going to look like at your function.  While it may be true in SOME cases, in the vast majority it is not.

Beware of videotapes!  What you see and hear, and what you actually get may be two completely different things.  With enough money and a good studio just about any band can be made to look and sound good.  However, this might not translate well into a live performance.

Oracle is different.  We perform at least two or three Friday evenings a month at a public performance somewhere, giving prospective clients a chance to hear us perform live...the way it was meant to be.  For the complete schedule of public performances go to the calendar page.

So, what do you do if you're out of town, or perhaps you want to listen to a few bands before tackling the task of driving across town to hear a band?  Well, Oracle has a couple of options open to you...starting right here on this page.

This page sports a variety of material as performed by Oracle. All of the selections you hear were recorded LIVE off the mixing board in actual performances.  No post production enhancement has been done, with the minor exception of fade ins and fade outs on the various excerpts.  What you hear here is exactly what came out of the speakers at the performance! 

We offer three options.  The easiest way to listen is to click on the RealAudio file, and assuming you have RealAudio installed on your computer, the selection will stream right to you in a matter of seconds.

If your tastes are somewhat more discerning, we offer a higher quality MP3 file download.  While the quality is superior to the RealAudio, it does take longer to download.  For those with a high speed broadband connection, though, you should opt for this method.

Finally, if you would prefer, we would be happy to send you a CD with all of these songs (and several more), so you can simply play them on your home CD player.  Just send an e-mail to and request a promotional package.  We'll mail you the CD as well as a brochure with band information, and a hard copy of the band's songlist.
