On Friday, June 26th Oracle will be performing for the opening of the
31st annual Montpelier Summer Concert Series, held outdoors on the grounds
of the beautiful Montpelier Mansion in Laurel Maryland.
If you haven't heard of Montpelier before, don't feel out of touch.
It's tucked away almost completely from sight of any main road, yet is only
5 minutes from the Baltimore-Washington Parkway.
Nestled on 70 acres of beautiful parkland, you wouldn't have a clue that
you are so close to a densely populated area.

Sponsored by the South Laurel Recreation Council, this will be the 31st
year the concert series has entertained audiences in the laurel are.
Best of all, the event is completely free and open to the public.
As with all of Oracle's concert performances, the event is open to folks
of all ages. Bring the kids, bring the grandkids, bring the
grandparents...there will be something for everyone.
We would encourage folks interested in attending to come early and walk
the grounds of the mansion prior to the concert. The stately Georgian
mansion was constructed between 1781 and 1785, and hosted several historical
figures of the day, including George Washington and Abigail Adams.
The
70 acres of grounds are what remain of the original 9000 acre plantation
that was the home of "Major" Thomas Snowden. (And now you know where
the "Snowden parkway" got it's name)!!!
Since there are no chairs in the concert area, we recommend you bring
lawn chairs or a blanket to sit on. Picnic dinners are encouraged as
well.
In the event of inclement weather call (301) 776-2805 to find out
if the concert has been cancelled.
